Validide working to adopt the Linux Foundation Public Health COVID Credentials Initiative to align digital efforts on paper-based Verifiable Credentials
There has been a lot of effort made prior to and after the breakout of COVID-19 in using Verifiable Credentials (VCs) to allow people to share vaccination status. However, this is not enough to provide worldwide usability. There must be solutions for expressing VCs on paper so that those in low-resource settings and without phones are not excluded.
CCI convened a summit on March 4 to rapidly iterate and come to alignment on how VCs can be expressed on paper in a simple, standard, global way. The goal of the summit was to provide advice to those who are working with the WHO and other public health authorities to give them a clear idea of how it all comes together – a coherent story about paper-based VCs.
